Politics: where'd Dred Scott come from?

Pepper the other night had a great theory: that Bush mentioned Dred Scott because it was the only court case he knew. Unlikely, but funny. Kevin Drum sites a much scarier idea: ...was "Dred Scott" really code for "Roe v. Wade" in last Friday's debate? Apparently the conservative right thinks so.
