Literature: Cheap Thrills
Am I the only one who is incredulous about how much press this is getting? It's at CNN, and any one of a number reputable news sources. Yes, Harry Potter is popular, but is every little leak about the plot, or what happens to characters worthy of second billing to the Nobel Literature Prize? (Garrett and my opinion about the award nonwithstanding) And, it's not really a surprise that another character is going to die. It's been beaten nearly to death upon each release of a book that Rowling is making everything more adult as the series goes on. All this serves to do water down good and enjoyable writing by playing up cheap thrills to a public that is probably supersaturated with the Harry Potter Experience anyway.

i'll agree that this particular article is pretty worthless, though I was personally interested enough in the series to click to find out more(sel).
Harry Potter is crack, dude. I'm just glad kids read at least one book a year instead of playing 'Kill the Ragheads 7' on PS2.
Hey, some of us haven't progressed beyond a 6th grade reading level yet. Let us have that little bit of joy in our lives that comes from the latest Harry Potter novel.
In a (almost) completely unrelated sidenote that is sure to make Garrett groan, I finally got my copy of the last installment of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. There goes the rest of my free time for the next few days. Yippie!
