Politics: Amazing -- It's the end of the world as we know it.
Going to bed, fully expecting to wake up to a Bush victory.
I haven't vomitted yet. That's a good sign.
And Bunning narrowly over Mongiardo in Kentucky. How do you say your Italian opponent looks like Saddam Hussein's kids, use a teleprompter in your debate, and win against a perfectly legitimate centrist Democrat?
And 11/11 states w/ a ballot initiative ensuring that homosexuals will be further marginalized for years to come passing that initiative?
And Tom Daschle is still losing. How do you fail to re-elect somebody as important as Tom Daschle? How can you further marginalize your already completely irrelevant state?
And the guy in Oklahoma who says girls can't go to the bathroom but one at a time because of rampant lesbianism in the public schools? They elect that guy?
Is our country this conservative, or is our "liberal" party that pitiful?
The latter seems to be the case.

I think we just proved that we don't have what it takes, for whatever reasons, to be considered greatest country in the world socially.
What's important to this country in an election? Is it the economy, terrorism, a misguided war, rights for minority groups, education, scientific research, etc.? Nope, it's "moral values." Damn, I really thought that with all the debate about the previously mentioned topics, surely one of those would be the deciding issue.
Can anyone tell me what type of "moral values" the President possesses that everyone is so fond of? Was it his unbridled passion for Columbian nose candy, or his and his party's outright hatred and fear of homosexuals? Maybe it's his claiming that he is a man of devout faith, although I've never seen a photo of him in church.
If this, moral values, is the real issue, then we can only start to imagine who some great candidates would be for 2008. Marion Berry, Robert Downey, Jr., and Darryl Strawberry should all be solid picks for the donkeys. Well, I don't actually know if any of them openly hate gays or claim that Jesus is their favorite philosopher, but it's a start.
